Changelog
Add sign-up banner to public profiles
Public builder profiles now include a sign-up banner. This adds a new visible call to action on the profile pages. The change affects the public-facing portfolio experience and makes sign-up available directly from builder profiles.
Expand shared profiles with About and tailored links
Shared profiles now show GitHub and LinkedIn, and include a new About section alongside a full products page. Each tailored link can carry its own intro, which can also be drafted with AI. Bio and About text can now be drafted with AI as well. One change this week was documentation work for parking a chat on tailored links and the rules that were decided for it.
Tailored portfolio links and PDF unlock tool
BuildRhino added a PDF password remover for owners and linked it from the owner settings. The week also introduced tailored portfolio links that can be built for one reader, opened on the intended project, turned off, and turned back on. The share flow now distinguishes must-see and optional products, and revoked shares defer access requests instead of prompting immediately. Documentation and tests were updated to match the new tailored-link behavior.
Added screenshot capture and product ordering
BuildRhino now lets a builder attach a screenshot to a product, capture it from the live site, and surface it on the dashboard and public profile. The fetch flow was moved to run on demand from the dashboard and can also be triggered when a live URL is entered. The week also tightened the surrounding product pages and account flow. Public pages now follow the reader’s light or dark setting, products can be ordered and that order can be shared, and several fixes improved sign-in, mobile account links, and how missing uploads and product grids are handled. Much of the remaining work was documentation and operational notes around deployment, capture rules, and environment settings.
BuildRhino adds public profiles and repository imports
BuildRhino now has GitHub and Google sign-in, builder profiles, public product pages, and claimable custom URLs. Products can be created and edited from the app, connected to GitHub repositories, and imported from an existing repository. This week also added the path from repository commits to published updates and a generated timeline on builder pages. The site and API were reworked for separate environments and deployments, with fixes around sign-in, installs, cookies, public-page loading, and database startup.
